Commemorative event in Utrecht

On 24 February 2024, Utrecht marked two years since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. During the public gathering near Jaarbeurs Utrecht, artworks by Ukrainian refugees were presented as part of the event. Max Hikm exhibited three paintings and created a new live artwork reflecting the meeting between people who see each other again after a long time or during a difficult moment, a feeling shared by many Ukrainians who had fled the war and found each other in the Netherlands.
